QUERIES

Briefing Briefing will take place on the day at the YeAABA Pier 30 minutes prior to the swim. The brieifing will take place outdoors so please ensure you bring warm clothing.
Start On the starters instructions swimmers will enter the water from the beach at Beach Crescent and line up against the wall of the YeAABA pier. Start will be by loud hailer or whistle.
Course The swim will consist of a triangular circuit in the large harbour at Broughty Ferry, swam as a relay in teams of four swimmers. Each swimmer will take it in turns to complete one circuit of the course with each subsequent swimmer being tagged in by the preceding swimmer. This swim will be run under SASA and World Aquatics rules.
Finish When the final swimmer touches the YeAABA pier.
Costumes Costumes must comply with BLDSA regulations which are the same as World Aquatics in this respect. Open Water Swimwear for both men and women shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor shall extend below the ankle. All Open Water swimsuits shall comply with the World Aquatics criteria for materials and approved procedures. Wet suits can only be worn if indicated on the entry form.
Parking Parking is available at the YeAABA Pier in Broughty Ferry.

Trophies

Alan Spalding Trophy

In addition to the Swim awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each category will be awarded a unique medal in Gold, Silver or Bronze. All finishers will receive a personalized certificate.

Please note that the club does not have any trophies for Wetsuit Category. Team will only receive Medals / Certificates, as appropriate.

YeAABA holds 14 championship swims both on the River Tay and on Loch Earn. It also provides training session in Broughty Ferry harbour and can arrange training swims out in the river tay. We promote the safety and welfare of swimmers and foster an interest in open water swimming.
