2026 Special Event - A 24 Hr Sponsored Swim

We are planning this as a one-off, fundraising, event for 2026, which will be a 24 Hour Swim in the Big Harbour (opposite Beach Crescent).

The proposed date for this event is Sat 8th Aug, starting at 11 am, and finishing on Sun 9th August at 11 am.

We are looking for swimmers to either swim for 60 Mins as part of this event.
We are looking for swimmers to raise £50 Sponsorship for 60 Mins.

Even with only 1 swimmer in the water at any time during the 24 hour period, we would stand to raise a minimum of £1200 for the club.

This event will be open between 31 Jan and 30 Apr for swimmers / volunteers to pledge their support as we need to decide by 1 May if the event has enough support to go ahead and make final plans / preparations for sponsor forms Etc.

So we need between 12 to 24 swimmers to make the event successful, and will also need the support of our volunteer boathandlers, lifesavers, and other volunteers to make the event happen. Swimmers may do more than one session during the 24 Hr period
