Club Single Tay - 4 Jun 2026

Our first swim of the season took place tonight, which was a crossing of the tay from Tayport to Broughty Ferry.

After an afternoon of heavy rain / thunderstorms, the skies cleared and the wind dropped around 6pm just in time for the event start.

8 swimmers set off from Tayport around 6:15. By 6:30 the wind had picked up quite a bit, which caused the swimmers some issues on the crossing.

4 swimmers however sucessfully completed the crossing:

Jillian Livie

The other 4 swimmers retired from the event, in the strengthening wind.

I will add the times later, as I don't have them to hand at this moment.
